About Signature Required

Most people don’t realize that FedEx Ground deliveries are handled by more than 6,000 independent small business owners across the country. Every day, those owners wake up with the same mandate: every package gets delivered, no matter what.

About 15% of those deliveries are marked signature required. Those packages are high-value, time-sensitive, or deeply personal. They can’t be left at the door. They require presence, and someone has to sign their name. That idea is where Signature Required was born.

Signature Required is a storytelling platform for messages that matter in Tennessee: ideas, conversations, and leadership moments that deserve more than a drive-by glance.

We sit down with Tennesseans who are doing the meaningful work of leadership: entrepreneurs, educators, public servants, creators, faith leaders, and builders. People who aren’t chasing headlines, but whose decisions ripple outward into families, cities, and the future of the state.

The stories we share here are worth stopping for, listening to, and carrying forward. They’re Signature Required.

About Carli Patton

Carli Patton is the co-founder of the Patton Foundation and the co-host of the Signature Required podcast, where she helps spotlight entrepreneurs, leaders, and trailblazers across Tennessee. She often jokes that her most demanding role is chauffeur, spending nearly six hours a day in school pick-up and drop-off lines. That season of life has deeply shaped her perspective on leadership, service, and family. Behind the scenes, Carli is closely involved in a growing network of Nashville-based businesses led by her husband, Spencer, supporting their culture and long-term vision.
